The Dark Side of ‘Smart’ Meters

November 2010 In this invitational presentation to the San Francisco Tesla Society consulting engineer Rob States explains how PG&E’s so-called ‘smart’ meters work and why they endanger health and privacy. He asks the obvious question, “Why would you trust the company that brought you Prop. 16?” For more info: EMFSafetyNetwork.org StopSmartMeters.wordpress.com EON3EMFblog.net BioInitiative.org   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06TqHKcjxXg   The truth about Smart Meters, July 2013   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLsfHgZIMsc   May 2016 News outlets report on true dangers of smart meters.

Smartphone Secrets [Must Watch]

February 2013 Source: MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) – What are you planning to do with the old one before you sell it or toss it in the recycle bin? Or you could: perform factory reset turn off location services (disables the GPS coordinates from embedding into new media) fill the storage with useless data (high rez images or video of nothing useful) then recycle The trick is to overwrite the parts of the drive which may hold parts of previous files – which is how they’re recovering the data!

Why Invest in Domain Names?

December 2016 Here are 10 reasons why you should be investing in domain names. 1. Internet Growth: The internet is large and growing. Worldwide retail ecommerce sales will reach almost $2 trillion in 2016 and it’s projected to grow by double-digits through 2020, where sales are expected to top $4 trillion. Now, while total retail sales in 2016 are expected to reach $22 trillion, 9% of all retail sales in 2016 growing to 18% by 2020 is a trend that we cannot ignore. And domain names are where that ecommerce is happening. 2. Limited Supply, Massive Demand: A premium domain name is like prime real estate — they’re in limited supply, many people or companies would love to own

You Don’t Need Money to Make Money

January 2017 I recently picked up my son from an after-school activity and told him about a couple successful flips of domain investor Christian Calvin. He had an $81 purchase turn into $12,500 sale, and a $99 purchase turn into $9,000 sale. My son was amazed, and then declared that he wanted to be the youngest Sherpa on a DomainSherpa profitable flip episode. So I stopped the car and turned around to face him. I told him that if he really wanted to do that, I’d help him do so — but he was going to have to do all the research, do all the work, hustle to send emails and follow-up, negotiate with the buyer, and sell the

Check Which TLDs Are Taken

January 2017 When evaluating domain names for purchase, one of my tactics involves a search of the top-level domains. The tactic being this: if more extensions are taken for a given second-level domain, there are likely to be more opportunities for businesses to upgrade to this domain name. In addition, popularity of the second-level domain may indicate that more companies will startup over the next few years and may have an interest in buying this domain name. Let me give you an example. Go to ZFBot.com, create and sign into your free account. Type “react” into the “Starts with…” input field, click the “Length” button to lock it to five characters and click the “Search” button. I see 111

Plant a (Domain Name) Tree Today

January 2017 There’s a Chinese proverb that reads: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” The same holds true for anything in life, including domain name investing. In the first 20 years of the commercial internet, the top 20 most expensive domain name sales of all time all sold for more than $5 million each. And they’re all in established industries like gambling, travel and investing. But the next 20 years to come offers a whole new wave of innovation that will provide an opportunity for newer investors to make their mark and potentially have their sale be in the top 20 or 100 domain names of all time.

Order of Magnitude Domain Name Pricing

February 2017 There’s no exact retail value for a domain name. Just like there’s no exact value for a physical piece of real estate. Period. If you wanted to sell your home and you asked three Realtors to value your home, they would go into the Multiple Listing Service and pull from the past couple of years all the sales in your neighborhood of homes similar to yours in geography and size. Then they’d physically walk into your home and see how it compares to what has sold by characteristics: number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, square feet of house and lot, quality of finishes, and other characteristics. Only then would they be able to give you a suggested

The New Goldrush: Domain Names

February 2017 There’s a gold rush going on. Get ya some of that! I was recently running on my treadmill — because it’s the middle of winter here in Seattle and there’s snow on the ground — and I had this brainstorm, so I’m going to share it. Maybe the night before I was watching Gold Rush, the television program on the Discovery Channel, so it was stuck in my head. I’m not sure. But here goes. Two types of domain name investors: 1. Prospectors 2. Miners Mis-classsifying yourself as either of them will leave you unsatisfied, unfulfilled, unhappy, and — most importantly — without money in your pocket. Prospectors go out looking for the rich veins of gold to turn

Sell Your Domain Name to Real Buyers

March 2017 Do you want to spam people, or do you want to spend your time reaching people who actually want to know your domain name is for sale? As soon as I register a domain name, I get unsolicited marketing emails from web development shops. As soon as I register a trademark, I get emails from legal firms soliciting for their services. As soon as I build a website, I get emails from SEO firms telling me that my search engine rankings suck. What do all of these emails have in common? I HATE THEM. So don’t send one of these types of emails when it comes to outbound marketing your domain name for sale. I received an

Nano-spike catalysts convert carbon dioxide directly into ethanol

October 2016 Scientists in Tennessee claim that, somewhat serendipitously, they converted carbon dioxide into ethanol. The researchers, who work at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory, developed a process that adds “nano-spikes” — essentially tiny bursts — of carbon and copper to CO2 to transform it into ethanol, the type of alcohol found in hand sanitizer and alcoholic drinks. Ethanol can also be turned into fuel — gasoline in Brazil contains more than 25% ethanol — which is why the scientists are calling the discovery a “twist to waste-to-fuel technology.” “We discovered somewhat by accident that this material worked,” Adam Rondinone, lead author of the study, said in a press release. “We were trying to study the first step of a proposed
